Somehow I knew you would write a fitting tribute. Thank you. May they, as well as Ed McMahon and Billy Mays, rest in peace.CountryDreaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01054776525714625769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278163384636006616.post-28666903104036197762009-07-03T11:29:33.750-04:002009-07-03T11:29:33.750-04:00Wonderful insight, Deedee. When one's heart and spirit are broken as a child..you'd be surprised the lengths one will go to, to become acceptable. By becoming so transformed, maybe Daddy won't be able to find him.
I bless his talent, as I do all of those you mentioned..how enriched our lives are because of them. And for Farrah, such courage through her pain..Lynhttp://ellerochelle.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278163384636006616.post-76075771737825605632009-06-30T17:05:02.896-04:002009-06-30T17:05:02.896-04:00After all the horrible stuff I've read in the ...After all the horrible stuff I've read in the newspapers and cruel jokes circulating, it's really good to read your post Dee because I feel exactly the same.

When I think of Michael Jackson right now, tears well up and I get a lump in my throat. Like you, I wasn't a follower of his music though I liked it, but you hit the nail on the head when you said what a damaged and fragile human being he had become. That is what I thought when watching film clips of him over the past few days. I also feel so sorry for his children. It's obvious they were very close to their father and are devastated by his sudden death. I didn't know, until this week, how dependant on drugs he was and how wasted his body had become by that dependance and lack of proper nutrition. It's just so sad.

I really hope the children are cared for lovingly and compassionately and go on to have a happy life, despite losing their father at such an early age.Lesleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05908084484202064053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278163384636006616.post-32299593021118119052009-06-30T13:52:21.898-04:002009-06-30T13:52:21.898-04:00DeeDee,

Thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts out there for the few of us to ponder along with you.

DonDonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17070578562535678950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278163384636006616.post-36058469629484112672009-06-30T11:42:31.984-04:002009-06-30T11:42:31.984-04:00Hi Deedee, I'm with you on the wealth thing. I love my privacy and alone time too much.
Smiles,
JuneJunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17283259375743586344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278163384636006616.post-91330999170980049322009-06-30T10:20:38.975-04:002009-06-30T10:20:38.975-04:00Good post! I totally agree with you on the fame part - tho the riches wouldn't be hard to take, the price for that is just too over the top for the private me. I also think I would forever be suspicious of people claiming to be friends with me - like is it ME or my fame you like? I think the whole scenario is not worth the wealth!

Don't you wonder, though, about the throngs of people just hanging out at his childhood home and every location imaginable? Their lives just stop so they can hang out "paying tribute"? Don't they have jobs, families, stuff to do? And what is to be done with the tons of flowers and teddy bears? Who cleans up that mess?

Perhaps I'm just an old curmudgeon. :)Susan Blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06755153568864508986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2278163384636006616.post-33219175693413717552009-06-30T04:56:22.726-04:002009-06-30T04:56:22.726-04:00Very well done and poignant. I echo your thoughts ...Very well done and poignant. I echo your thoughts on Michael Jackson - I don't own any of his albums other than Thriller - but I haven't played that since the 80's.

There was an account from Cory Feldman who would hang with Michael when he was a young child - he referred to Michael's affections as those of a caring older brother. While his associations with young children was certainly odd and borderline appropriate - from the outside looking in - I think it's also a tinge of jealousy on some who wish that they were receiving attention from a cultural icon.

Anyway - catch ya later.Eskimo Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02620064453780055916noreply@blogger.com
